Brian E. Smith, CCIM

Brian is an Associate at Commercial Industrial Properties, specializing in leasing and sales of industrial properties including manufacturing, light-industrial office-warehouse, warehouse and distribution, and flex research & development.

He brings a unique perspective to working with his clients having spent 20 years building and running his own company here in Austin. As CEO, he negotiated over a dozen leases, opened and relocated numerous offices, and is very familiar with the stresses of running a business.

Starting in 2015 he began buying and developing office warehouses for personal investment. He has owned, leased, developed, and sold numerous light-industrial office-warehouses around the Central Texas area. As a principal, Brian has executed more than $25 million in value in real estate transactions.

His path in development led him to obtain his CCIM designation, and eventually to a career in Commercial Real Estate brokerage.

Brian is a graduate of Texas A&M University, enjoys mentoring up and coming Aggies, and is a frequent guest speaker at his alma mater. He's also an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys wilderness canoeing or backpacking and is a 4x Ironman Finisher.

When not exploring deep in the backcountry, you will find him enjoying time with his family in Austn, TX.

  • Financial Analysis

    As a CCIM designee, I am trained in advanced financial modeling and analytics. I have experience developing and modeling proformas on existing stabilized projects and also for “ground up” development. For my leasing clients I can perform a thorough financial analysis of multiple lease options netting each of them to a ‘bottom-dollar’ value to show you the expected cost to you over the life of each lease. This allows you to confidently choose the lease with the best economic value.
